Why Cloth Diaper?
**Environmentally Friendly
One baby using disposable diapers contributes 1 ton of waste to landfills. 27.4 billion disposable diapers are used every year in the U.S. Disposable diapers take 250-500 years to decompose. (realdiaperassociation.org)
**Economical
Disposable diapers can cost $1500-$2000 per child. Even with the frequent washings, cloth is still so much cheaper. Especially if the diapers are used for more than one child. Calculate how much you can save here.
**No chemicals
Disposable diapers have chemicals that have caused known reactions and may still cause side effects which are still unknown. Some theories, proven or unproven, include these chemicals leading to infertility, cancer, skin diseases, and birth defects. We really don't know what effects these chemicals could have on our babies' most vulnerable areas.
**Dad and babysitter friendly
No more pins!! (Unless you prefer them.) Diapers are now fitted, have velcro or snaps and elastic. How much easier can you get?!
**Easy to care for Just throw them in the washing machine with a small amount of everyday detergent. Most can be put in the drier or line-dried. See "Washing Diapers."
**Comforable for baby
Who wants to wear paper? Oncce you feel how soft and cozy cloth diapers are, you'll never want to go back! Don't you want the best for your baby?
**Cute and Chic
These aren't your grandmother's cloth diapers! They come in many adorable colors and prints. Pick your favorite!
